she IS perfect after all!

We got great news yesterday!

Three weeks ago we went in for an ultrasound on her hips because the doctors had heard a click in her left hip. The pediatrician said that it was just precautionary and that her hips, although the sockets were shallow, seemed to be pretty good and were getting better. We were surprised to hear at the first appointment with an orthopedists that she needed to be in a Pavlik Harness for 23 hours a day for 5 weeks. It was torture to watch them strap her in. I don't know who cried harder, Addy or me. Needless to say, it didn't last long and we decided to see 2 other doctors to get a second... and third opinion. They were both much more helpful than the evil PA we saw first. After talking with the second doctor, we decided to roll the dice and see if they got better on their own and it paid off. Her ultrasound came back as normal and we are all happy to hear it. She hates getting dressed, much less being strapped down every day.

You can see what the harness looks like on baby Chloe's blog. She went through the same thing although never had to put the harness on.

I wish I had taken a picture of her in the 30 minutes she had the harness on, but I am not going to put it back on her to capture it. And, to the evil PA who said she would be permanently deformed if I chose not to treat her... "HA! I told you she was perfect!"
