Thanks so much for all of the visitors! It has been fun to share this with all of our friends and family. Our house is clean, fully stocked and Addy has been well loved throughout her first week of life! Luckily, Leigh Ann, Jeff and Chloe are on their way out on Friday to keep us company. In the meantime... come visit. We love the company!

What's In a Name

Adelynd Katherine Hayes: Lets break it down......


Adelynd
An odd name by most standards. Named after her grandfather, Lynd Kevin Mische. Technically a silent "d", it adds a uniqueness fitting of the man. We can already see that Addy has inherited her grandfather's dry sense of humor, intelligence, long monkey arms and the affinity to get the hiccups.

Katherine
A traditional name donated by her grandmother, Sarah Katherine Hayes. Fitting of the name, Grandma is already filling the traditional role of the spoiler. Addy has a clean house, painted nursery, clothes that will last until age 4 and more stuff than will ever fit in our tiny little bungalow.

Hayes
An Irish name through and through. Addy has quite a clan waiting for her out there. She has a couple villages/towns named after her across the water with a wide array of family members, most of whom have avoided major jail time. Look for her in the parade next year.

Thanks to all those who taught me the the four most important things about announcing a birth are the name, weight, length and close-up photos. Apparently I am not well versed in baby-having etiquette.
