Preparations for a Bountiful Christmas (pt1/3)

Eric and I spent the Christmas season last year getting ready to head to Costa Rica. It was beautiful. It wasn't Christmas. So this year, we decided to embrace all things Christmas, and this holiday surpassed all expectations! It was a full season. Full of family, gifts, celebrating, eating, Christmas lights and friends. Oh, and the flu. Luckily, Addy and I went unscathed, but Leigh was keeping track but lost count at 19 people infected. This post will be just our time in Denver, the good stuff you are looking for will be next.

Denver had an unseasonably warm December, which made for an enjoyable Winterfest on S. Pearl St. Have I mentioned I love my neighborhood? About 6 blocks from home we got to visit Santa, get a Christmas Tree and eat some tasty Pupusas.

We visited with Santa again at Eric's work Christmas party. Eric sat on Santa's lap with Addy, which merited an extra laugh being that Santa was really his British Co-Worker, who may weigh less than Eric.

There were about 6 GREAT babysitters at the party, too bad they live in Parker.

Mimi and Pops got Addy her own car! Who says they have to wait until 16?!?! Hopefully this sets a precedent for her teenage years.

We had a horrendously tacky tree this year. I guess at some point Christmas is more about Addy than me, right?

This picture makes me laugh.

I am just happy I found pictures of Addy with clothes on. Her new favorite thing is to be naked and to take off all of her clothes any time and any place.

The Bountiful Christmas!! (pt 2/3)

In no particular order... There are tons and tons of pictures (I got a new camera and video camera for Christmas, so there really are tons!) If you want to see more, let me know and I will try and post them somewhere.

Addy got lots of jewels, costumes, and basically all things bright and frilly. I love that Chloe and Addy have love the same things!

Addy spent most of the week exhausted! Lots of late nights, and more excitement than she could ever imagine made for lots of great lap time.

Addy wasn't the only one that was tired...

We actually made it to the Plaza to see the lights a couple of times which was a treat! This was taken at our last night in town at Plaza III. I am pretty sure we were the youngest (and loudest) people they had seen in a while. I don't think I have ever eaten as much meat as I did last week, and it was all so good. We had Jess N Jims, Plaza III, Blanc Burger, BRGR, Freddy's Steakburgers, and McGonigales.

One of my new favorite things about Kansas City is that my cousin Tim and his family recently moved there! It was such a pleasure to spend a bit of time with them. Lorelai and Leilani are great additions to the team! This is the only picture I got on Christmas Eve of Addy in her long sought after Christmas outfit. When we got back to Grandmas she proudly claimed... "Hi Grandma! I wouldn't say cheese!" Seriously. Poor Charlotte was missing but next year she will be right in the mix.

Lots of unwrapping

And some other cute ones...

Luke is a trooper (pt 3/3)

This deserves a post of its own. Addy loves, loves, loves her cousins Reese and Luke but at this moment, Luke became the victim of her affections. It started so innocent...

Halloween and a typical MU Fan

One loss and Mer has already switched sides......

I tried to dress up like Magnum PI.

There's a decent chance I ended up looking more like a bit of a pedofile. It was a real stash.....

Mer taught Addy a trick

So we're in the kitchen and we hear this devil voice yelling at the dog. At first we weren't sure what she was saying then it became obvious Addy had picked up Mer's favorite phrase used in her communication with our yellow lab Annie.
